Turn a training you tracked into a trail, so you can ride the route again or share it with other riders. Creating, editing, deleting and reporting trails is free, on iPhone and Android.
Before you start
You can create a trail from a training you tracked with Equilab that is at least 0.6 miles (1 km) long and lasted at least 5 minutes.
A training longer than 62 miles (100 km) can't be made into a trail.
Create a trail
Open the training you want to turn into a trail, so you see its Training Summary.
Tap Add trail, just below the route map.
Tap Create new trail.
If you only want part of the training as the trail, trim the start or the end of the route.
Add a Name and a Description for the trail. Both are required.
Add any other details you like:
Photos or videos
The difficulty: easy, moderate or hard
Up to 10 tags, such as asphalt road, beach or barefoot friendly
Facilities, such as parking for a horse trailer at the start of the trail, or that the trail is for horse riding only
Choose whether the trail is Public or Private.
Tap Save.
Your trail is saved with your created trails: on the Track tab, tap the bookmark button in the upper left corner on iPhone, or the upper right corner on Android. A public trail also shows on the Track tab's map for other riders.
Public or private trail
A trail's visibility decides who can see and ride it:
Public: all Equilab users can see and ride the trail. In the app, they see your name on it, if you've added your name to Equilab.
Private: only you and friends you share the trail with can see it. Sharing needs Premium: see Premium trail tools: share, filter, export and ride offline.
You can change the visibility later by editing the trail. For more, including the trail map on our website, see Public and private trails, and the trail map on our website.
Before you make a trail public, check whether it crosses private land:
Trails on private land
If a trail crosses private land, make it Private. Other riders then can't find the route, which helps prevent confusion and trespassing.
Link a past training to an existing trail
If you rode a trail that's already in Equilab, link your training to it: open the training's Training Summary, tap Add trail, then tap Select existing trail and choose the trail.
Edit or delete your trail
You can edit or delete any trail you created:
On the Track tab, tap the bookmark button in the upper left corner on iPhone, or the upper right corner on Android.
In your Created Trails list, tap the trail.
Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
Tap Edit to change the trail, or Delete to remove it.
When you edit a trail, the visibility switch between Public and Private is at the bottom. Tap Save to keep your changes.

Report a trail
If a trail another rider created is wrong, for example the path is shown inaccurately, you can report it:
Open the trail's details.
Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
Tap Report trail.
How to report a trail.
If you can't create a trail
The training is too short or too long: a trail needs a tracked training of at least 0.6 miles (1 km) and 5 minutes, and no longer than 62 miles (100 km).
You can't save the trail: fill in the Name and Description. Both are required.
You can't find your trail: on the Track tab, tap the bookmark button in the upper left corner on iPhone, or the upper right corner on Android, to see your created trails.
