Posture Coach helps you keep your head up while you ride: your AirPods beep when you look down too far, toward your horse's neck. Looking down makes your posture collapse forward and limits what you see.
⭐ This is a Premium feature. To use Posture Coach, you need Premium or a free trial. See Start Premium or a free trial.
Before you start
Posture Coach works only on iPhone, with iOS 15 or later. It isn't available on Android.
You need AirPods with Spatial Audio. These include 3rd generation (and later) AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max.
Make sure your AirPods fit tightly in your ears, so they don't move while you ride.
Turn on Posture Coach
Turn on Posture Coach before you start riding:
Connect your AirPods to your iPhone and choose them as the audio output.
In Equilab, open the Track tab.
Tap Coach.
Turn on Posture Coach.
Choose a level: Medium or Hard. The level decides how far down you can look before you hear the beep. Hard is stricter and beeps with less head dip.
Calibrate your AirPods: follow the voice instructions and move your head as they say. You can calibrate now or when you start the training.
Start tracking.
During the training, you hear a beep whenever you look too far down, as a reminder to look up.
Change Posture Coach during a ride
You can turn Posture Coach on or off, or change the level, during a training without interrupting it: tap the three dots at the bottom of the tracking screen, choose Open Posture Coach, and change the settings.
If Posture Coach doesn't beep, or beeps too often
Check these in order:
Premium: Posture Coach needs Premium. If you have Premium but it isn't showing, see I paid, but Premium isn't showing.
Your AirPods: Posture Coach works only with AirPods with Spatial Audio. These include 3rd generation (and later) AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max.
Audio output: check that your AirPods are connected and chosen as your iPhone's audio output.
iOS version: check that your iPhone has iOS 15 or later.
Calibration: calibrate again and follow the voice instructions closely. You can calibrate when you turn on Posture Coach or when you start a training.
Fit: check that your AirPods fit tightly and don't move while you ride.
Too many beeps: choose Medium instead of Hard.
If nothing helped, contact support with your AirPods model and the date and time of the training.
