You can record a training with Equilab where there's no mobile signal. This article explains what works offline, when the training uploads to your account, and what to avoid until it has.
What works without signal
These parts of Equilab work as normal when you have no mobile signal:
Tracking: Equilab tracks the training and keeps it on your phone until it can upload.
Records: if you set a new personal best offline, Equilab stores the Record on your phone and shows it on the training once you're back online.
Downloaded trails (Premium): a trail you downloaded before the ride shows its path, so you can ride the trail offline.
What needs a connection
Safety Tracking needs a mobile data connection for the whole ride. While you have no connection, your Safety Contacts don't get your position or alerts. When you're back online, your whole path and your current status refresh on your Safety Contacts' screens. Keep mobile data on during rides, so Safety Tracking works and your training uploads right after the ride.
When your training uploads
A training recorded without signal uploads to your Equilab account when your phone is online again, through mobile data or Wi-Fi. Until the training has uploaded, it exists only on your phone.
Don't delete or reinstall Equilab before your trainings have uploaded
If you delete the app before a training recorded offline has uploaded, the training can be lost. Before you delete or reinstall Equilab, connect to the internet, open the app and check that all your trainings show in the app: under All trainings on the Trends tab, on the Calendar tab, or under Trainings on the Profile tab.
Ride a trail without signal
Downloading trails for offline riding is a Premium feature. Download the trail while you still have a connection: open the trail's details and tap the download icon (an arrow pointing down). The trail then stays on your phone, under Downloaded trails in My trails, until you remove it or your Premium ends.
For the full steps to download a trail, download a saved trail and remove a downloaded trail, see Premium trail tools: share, filter, export and ride offline. To get Premium, see Start Premium or a free trial.
