Equilab detects tölt only on horses whose horse type is Icelandic Horse, and only when that horse is chosen for the training. Here's how to set this up so your trainings show tölt.
Horse type, not breed. Only the horse type decides whether Equilab looks for tölt. The breed is free text and doesn't affect gaits. Equilab doesn't detect tölt for any other horse type.
Set your horse's type to Icelandic Horse
Go to the Profile tab and tap your horse.
On iPhone, tap the three dots in the top-right corner, then tap Edit. On Android, tap the pencil icon in the top-right corner.
Set Type to Icelandic Horse.
Save your changes.
From now on, Equilab looks for tölt on trainings with this horse. Trainings you tracked before the change keep their gaits: changing the horse type doesn't add tölt to earlier trainings.
Choose the horse before you start tracking
Tölt is detected while you track, so choose your Icelandic horse before you start:
Open the Track tab.
Tap Horse and choose your Icelandic horse.
Tap Start tracking.
A training started without a horse is saved without one, so it has no tölt. Adding the horse to the training afterward doesn't add tölt, because tölt is only detected during tracking.
If you start your trainings from the iPhone Lock Screen, the widget needs the horse too:
If you start tracking from your iPhone Lock Screen
If you start tracking from your iPhone Lock Screen
A training started from the Equilab Lock Screen widget gets the horse and training type set in the widget. If no horse is set in the widget, the training is saved without a horse and has no tölt.
Choose your Icelandic horse in the widget. For the steps to set or change the widget's horse and training type, see How to start a ride from your iPhone Lock Screen.
See tölt on your trainings
A training with tölt shows its gaits everywhere the training appears: in the feed on the Home tab, under Trends > All trainings, in the Calendar tab and under Profile > Trainings.
To see only your Icelandic horse's trainings in the Calendar tab, choose the horse in the dropdown at the top left.
If tölt still doesn't show
If your horse type is Icelandic Horse and you chose the horse before you started, check that:
The training was tracked after you set the horse type.
Your phone was tight against your body. See Where to carry your phone while riding.
If parts of a training show the wrong gait, you can correct them with Gait Segments, a Premium feature. On a horse with the horse type Icelandic Horse, you can choose tölt when you tap Change Gait. See Correct the gaits on a ride (Gait Segments).
If tölt still doesn't show, contact support with your Account ID, the horse's name, and the date and time of the training. To get your Account ID, go to Profile > Settings and tap Copy Account ID, then paste it into your message.
