Add your horse on the Profile tab, so your trainings, stats and calendar can be saved for that horse.
Before you start
On the free plan you can add one horse. To add more horses, you need Premium. See How many horses can I use on the free plan?
Add a horse
Go to the Profile tab.
Tap Add horse.
Enter your horse's name. The name is the only required field.
Choose the horse's Type. Only the type Icelandic Horse detects tölt.
Add any other details you want: breed, Birth Date, gender, Main Discipline and a picture. On iPhone, you can also add a level. Horse weight and equipment weight are at the bottom: Equilab uses them to estimate your horse's energy.
Save the horse: on iPhone, tap Save. On Android, tap the checkmark in the top right corner.
Your horse now shows on your Profile tab. Before each training, select the horse on the Track tab. If you don't select it, the training isn't saved for that horse. See How to record a ride.
To change any detail later, see Edit or delete a horse profile. To let others ride and record on your horse, see Share a horse with co-riders (Horse Team).
Choose the right horse type
You set the horse type on the horse profile. You can choose Cob, Coldblood, Gaited horse, Icelandic Horse, Pony, Stock horse, Thoroughbred, Trotter, Warmblood or Other. Breed is free text and doesn't affect gaits.
Equilab detects tölt only for horses with the type Icelandic Horse. The Gaited horse type doesn't detect tölt. If tölt is missing from your trainings, see Tölt isn't showing for my gaited horse.
Horses on the free plan
The free plan includes one horse. Horses you added before April 15, 2023, or while you had Premium, stay in your profile, but on the free plan you can track with only one of them: your default horse, which is the first horse you added. To track with all your horses, you need Premium. See What's included in Free and Premium.
