How to add a manual training

Forgot to track your ride? Add it by hand as a manual training so it counts toward your Challenges.

Forgot to track your ride? Add it by hand as a manual training, so it's saved with your other trainings and counts toward the Challenges you've joined. Manual trainings are free.

If you recorded the training with another app or device, you can import it instead with Premium: see How to import training files to Equilab or How to import trainings from Apple Health to Equilab.

Add a manual training

  1. Open the Track tab.

  2. Tap the + button next to Start tracking.

  3. Fill in the details of your training.

  4. Save the training.

A manual training can include:

  • Date and start time

  • Duration and distance

  • Horse and training type

  • Time in each gait

  • Ground type

  • Horse and rider performance (1 to 5)

  • A note, comments, and photos or videos

  • Whether the training is private. See Who can see your rides, profile and horses.

The manual training now shows with your other trainings. To change something later, see Edit a saved ride.

What manual trainings count for

Manual trainings are handled differently from tracked trainings in a few places:

  • Challenges: a manual training counts toward a Challenge you've joined, like a tracked training. Manual trainings with unrealistic values, such as 500 miles in one day, aren't counted.

  • Records: manual trainings don't create Records. Records only come from trainings with a horse selected that you tracked in the app or imported from a training file. See Records: your personal bests.

  • Ride Replay: Ride Replay isn't available for manual trainings.

  • Gaits: Equilab doesn't detect gaits on a manual training. The time in each gait is what you enter.

If your manual training doesn't count

If nothing helped, contact support and include the date of the training, the Challenge name if it's about a Challenge, and a screenshot of the training.
