Understand your Training Summary

What a training's summary shows: map, time, distance, speed, gaits, weather, photos, Records and energy, and what Premium adds.

The Training Summary is the screen that shows a saved training's results: your path on the map, time, distance, gaits, weather and more. Here's what each part means, and what Premium adds.

Open a Training Summary

The Training Summary opens as soon as you save a training. To open it later, tap the training in any of these places:

  • The feed on the Home tab

  • Trends > All trainings

  • The Calendar tab

  • Profile > Trainings

What the Training Summary shows

The Training Summary can show the following on the free plan and with Premium:

  • Map: the path you rode. Maximize the map to see it full screen.

  • Time, distance and average speed.

  • Time in each gait: walk, trot, canter, and tölt for horses with the horse type Icelandic Horse. Non-mounted training types, such as driving, have no gaits unless you add them by hand after the training or when you edit it.

  • Steep right and left turns: the time you spent riding in steep turns to each side. Use it to see how much you worked each side.

  • Weather during the training.

  • Photos and videos you took or added. Photos taken with the camera in Equilab during the training also show as camera pins on the map.

  • Records badge, when the training set a new personal best with that horse. See Records: your personal bests.

  • Horse and rider energy estimates. See "Horse and rider energy" below.

  • Likes and comments.

Distance and temperature follow your units in Profile > Settings > Units.

Horse and rider energy

Equilab estimates the energy you and your horse used during each training:

  • Horse energy is estimated from your horse's weight, the weight your horse carries (equipment and rider), the distance and time, and the gaits and speeds. Enter your horse's weight and the equipment weight at the bottom of the horse profile. You can add your own weight under Profile > Edit profile > Weight.

  • Rider energy shows when Equilab is connected to your phone's health app: Apple Health on iPhone, or Health Connect on Android. It uses Apple's or Android's own calculation, based on the activity type and how your phone or watch moved.

Horse and rider energy are estimates, not medical advice.

What Premium adds to the Training Summary

With Equilab Premium, the Training Summary also has the following. For all plan differences, see What's included in Free and Premium.
