Records: your personal bests

Equilab celebrates your longest and longest-lasting trainings with each horse. How Records are set, updated and removed.

Records are your personal bests: the longest distance and the longest duration you've ridden with each horse. Equilab creates them automatically from your tracked trainings, on the free plan and with Premium.

How a training becomes a Record

Equilab creates Records by these rules:

  • Trainings with a horse selected can set a Record when you track them in Equilab or import them from a training file. Manual trainings don't create Records.

  • Each time you save a new or edited training, Equilab compares its distance and duration with your Records for that horse. If either is higher, even by a little, the training sets a new Record.

  • One training can set two Records at once: distance and duration.

  • Each horse has its own Records with you.

  • In a new account, Records start from your second tracked training.

Older trainings and new horses

Trainings from before Equilab had Records don't create Records by themselves. When you add a horse, its Records start from that day. If you edit an older training, for example to add the horse, Equilab checks it against your Records like a new training.

Where you see your Records

Your Records show in these places:

  • On the Training Summary, as a Records badge. You also see the badge on your friends' trainings.

  • In the feed on the Home tab.

  • On your Profile, in the Records section above Achievements.

  • On the map when you share a training that holds a Record. See Share a ride outside Equilab.

Records use the units in your settings. When you set a new Record, a celebration pop-up opens on the Training Summary. You get up to two celebration pop-ups a week across all your horses, so you may not see one for every Record. The limit resets every Monday.

When a Record changes or is removed

Equilab checks your Records again whenever a training's key details change:

  • Editing a training that holds a Record: Equilab warns you first. If you continue, the changes are saved and your Records are recalculated. If you don't, nothing changes. See Edit a saved ride.

  • Trimming a training: the Record is recalculated from the shorter training.

  • Changing the horse: Equilab checks the training against the new horse's Records. If a Record is gained or lost, the badge updates right away.

  • Deleting a training that holds a Record: the Record is removed.

  • Deleting a horse or your account: all Records linked to it are removed permanently.

If a training didn't set a Record

Check these in order:

  1. Check that the training has a horse. A training without a horse can't set a Record. Add the horse with Edit, and Equilab checks the training again.

  2. Check that it isn't a manual training. Manual trainings never set Records.

  3. Compare it with your Records for that horse on your Profile. The training must cover a longer distance, or last longer, than your current Record with the same horse.

  4. Check whether you had mobile signal. A Record set without signal is stored on your phone and shows on the training once you're back online.

No celebration pop-up? You may have had your two pop-ups for this week. The Record still shows on the training and on your Profile.

If nothing helped, contact support with the horse's name, the date and time of the training, and a screenshot of the training and of your Records.
