Record the same ride for more than one horse

Riding and leading, or two horses in one session? Save the training once, then duplicate it for the other horse.

If you ride one horse and lead another, you can give both horses the same training. Equilab tracks from one device at a time per account, so save the training once and then duplicate it for the second horse.

Before you start

  • Both horses need to be in your Equilab account. See Add your horse.

  • On the free plan, only one of your own horses, your default horse, can get new trainings. Your default horse is the first horse you added to your account. Horses someone else shared with you don't count toward that limit. This also applies to a duplicated training: you can move the copy to your default horse or to a horse someone shared with you, but not to your other horses. See How many horses can I use on the free plan?

Duplicate a training for another horse

  1. Track and save the training with the first horse.

  2. Open the training and tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the Training Summary.

  3. Tap Duplicate. Equilab makes a copy of the training.

  4. On the copy, tap the three dots again and tap Edit.

  5. Choose the second horse and tap Save.

The copy now shows for the second horse everywhere the training is saved: in the feed on the Home tab, under Trends > All trainings, in the Calendar tab and under Profile > Trainings. For more on editing, see Edit a saved ride.

How the copy counts in Challenges and Records

A duplicated training counts like any other training:

  • Challenges: the copy adds to your Challenge totals, so the distance and time of that training count twice.

  • Records: the copy can set a Record for the second horse.

If you don't want the training to count twice in a Challenge, don't duplicate it, or delete the copy. See Delete a ride.

If the second horse isn't in the list

  • The horse isn't in your account yet: add it first. See Add your horse.

  • You're on the free plan: you can only move the copy to your default horse or to a horse someone shared with you. Your other horses can't get new trainings on the free plan. Start Premium to use them: see Start Premium or a free trial.

If nothing helped, contact support and include the horse's name, the date and time of the training, and a screenshot.
