Share a horse with co-riders (Horse Team)

Add friends to your horse's Team to share its trainings, calendar and documents, and remove a co-rider or leave a horse.

Share your horse with the people who ride it by adding them to the horse's Team. Co-riders on the Team can record trainings on the horse and see its trainings, calendar and documents. Only the horse's owner, marked with a yellow crown on the horse's profile, can add or remove co-riders.

Before you start

  • You can only add people who are your friends in Equilab. See Add or remove friends.

  • Sharing a horse works on the free plan and on Premium.

Add a co-rider to your horse

  1. Go to the Profile tab and tap the horse you want to share.

  2. In the Team section, tap +.

  3. Select the friend you want to add.

Your friend now shows in the horse's Team section, and the horse shows on their Profile tab. When they record a training, they select the horse on the Track tab.

If the person isn't in your list, check that you're friends in Equilab. If you don't see + in the Team section, you're not the horse's owner: ask the owner to add the person.

What owners and co-riders can do

Everyone on a horse's Team, owner and co-riders, can:

Only the owner can edit the horse profile and add or remove co-riders. If a co-rider's trainings don't show on the horse, see My co-rider's rides don't show on our shared horse.

Remove a co-rider or leave a shared horse

The steps depend on whether you're the horse's owner or a co-rider. Open the section that fits you.

If you're the owner and want to remove a co-rider

  1. Go to the Profile tab and tap the horse.

  2. In the Team section, tap the three dots next to the co-rider's name.

  3. Tap Remove.

The co-rider is no longer on the horse's Team and loses access to the horse.

If you're a co-rider and want to leave the horse

  1. Go to the Profile tab and tap the horse you ride.

  2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.

  3. Tap Remove me from horse.

You're no longer on the horse's Team, and the horse no longer shows on your Profile tab.

Frequently asked questions

These are the questions riders ask most about shared horses.

Do horses shared with me count toward the free plan's horse limit?

No. Only horses you created count toward the free plan's one-horse limit. On the free plan you can be a co-rider on shared horses and record trainings on them. See How many horses can I use on the free plan?

Can the horse's Team see trainings I marked Private?

Yes. A Private training on a shared horse doesn't show in the feed on the Home tab, but the horse's owner and co-riders can still see it in the Calendar when they filter by that horse. See Who can see your rides, profile and horses.
