Join a Challenge in Equilab to ride toward a distance goal, compete with your friends and earn badges, on iPhone and Android.
⭐ Some Challenges are a Premium feature. Anyone can join the free Challenges. On a Challenge that needs Premium, free riders see an Unlock Premium button, which opens the page to start Premium. See Start Premium or a free trial.
Join a Challenge
Choose your goal carefully: once you've joined, you can't change the goal or leave the Challenge. You can only raise the goal after you've reached it.
On the Home tab, tap Challenges at the top.
Tap the Challenge you want to join. The list also shows the Challenges you've already joined.
Confirm the goal you want to set for yourself.
You've joined the Challenge. Only trainings within the Challenge's dates count toward your goal, and they're counted automatically, including ones you tracked after the start but before you joined. You can join before a Challenge starts or after it has started.

Which trainings count toward a Challenge
Once you've joined a Challenge, these trainings count automatically:
Every training you track during the Challenge's dates, including trainings from before you joined. If you join a week after the start, the trainings you tracked in that first week count too.
Manual trainings with a date within the Challenge, unless the values are unrealistic, such as 500 miles in one day. See How to add a manual training.
Duplicated trainings, for example a copy for a second horse: the copy counts like any other training, so its distance counts again.
Challenge progress is always rounded down to the nearest tenth of a mile or kilometer, so it never shows more than you rode. See Why your distance differs from other apps or trail markers.
When Challenges start and end
Challenges start and end at 1:00 AM Central European Time (CET, GMT+1), not at midnight in your local time. In other time zones, a Challenge starts and ends earlier or later in your local time, so a training late on the last day can fall outside the Challenge.
Follow the Challenge leaderboards
To see your progress and the leaderboard, tap the Challenge under Challenges at the top of the Home tab. The leaderboard has two views:
Friends: your Equilab friends who have joined the Challenge, and their progress.
Top 10: the riders with the most progress toward the goal. Each goal level has its own Top 10.
Results that are clearly recording errors, such as 1 million miles, may be removed from the leaderboards.
See your friends who joined the same Challenge.
Reach your goal and earn badges
If you reach your goal before a Challenge ends, you can raise it and aim for the next level. You keep the badge you've already earned, even if you don't reach the higher goal.
Whatever goal you set, you earn the badge for the highest level you passed. If your goal is 100 miles and you ride 90, you still get the 50-mile badge.
Your badges are under Achievements on your Profile. You also earn badges for milestones, such as the hours and distance you've tracked.
If a training doesn't count toward a Challenge
Check the date: the training must be within the Challenge's dates. Challenges start and end at 1:00 AM CET (GMT+1), so a training late on the last day in your time zone may be after the Challenge ended.
Check manual trainings: a manual training with unrealistic distance or duration doesn't count.
A small difference in distance is rounding: Challenge progress is always rounded down.
If the training itself is missing, see A ride or horse is missing.
If nothing helped, contact support with the name of the Challenge, the date and time of the training, and screenshots of the training and your Challenge progress.
