Android Devices - Preventing/Addressing Interrupted Trainings

Devices will sometimes shut off the Equilab app unexpectedly if is has been running for a while, as tracking and transmitting GPS and motion data simultanesouly can drain a battery over time. To help prevent your device from shutting down Equilab without warning, please take the following steps:

Enable Background app use

  1. Locate the Equilab app on your home screen or launcher

  2. Tap and hold the app logo to display the long press menu

  3. Select the App info shortcut: an (i) symbol (or something similar; it may vary depending on your device)

  4. Locate the Battery entry in the menu that opened and tap it

  5. Select Unrestricted on the next screen to allow the app to run without being limited when it's in the background

Prevent accidental closure

  1. Open the Settings app (you will find it on the home screen or apps tray)
  2. Scroll down and click on Device Care
  3. Tap on Battery options
  4. Select the App Power Management
  5. Tap on Put unused apps to sleep in the Advanced Settings section
  6. Select the slider to Off
  7. Go back one screen, and select "Never Sleeping Apps"
  8. Select "+"
  9. Select Equilab from the list of apps
  10. Press "Add"

Ensure data removal is disabled

  1. Open the Settings app (you will find it on the home screen or apps tray)
  2. Select the option for App Permissions
  3. Choose Equilab from the list of apps
  4. Ensure the switch for "Remove permissions and free up space" is turned off
