There are a few steps you can take to help minimize your device's battery usage without impacting Equilab's performance:
- Keep your phone locked (screen off/dark) while riding
- If you need to open your phone, avoid using the map screen when possible. Keeping Equilab on the training stats screen (that shows time, distance, speed, and gaits) requires less battery.
- Ensure Equilab is enabed to run in the background (in your phone's settings; for Android only)
- Close and kill other apps that you are not using while riding
- Turn on airplane mode (note that doing so pauses all inbound/outbound messages, notifications, or calls)
Note that there is a direct tradeoff between how precise and reliable a tacking app is and how much battery power it consumes. Maintaining precision reqiures colllecting more data points more often from the GPS and other sensors, which is why Equilab uses more battery than some other apps.
We hope these steps can help you extend your device's battery life while using Equilab. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. We're always here to help.
